4 Reasons to Color Change Wrap Your Vehicle
Protect Your Vehicle
A wrap is very similar to paint protection film in terms of general protection. A wrap is not quite as thick as paint protection film but will still protect your vehicle from minor scratches, bumps, and damage, especially when the wrap is properly laminated. A vinyl wrap covers every surface of your vehicle, however, while PPF (generally) only covers certain areas. The biggest difference is that PPF is virtually invisible and leaves your car looking the same while a wrap gives you many customization options, leading to the next point:
Be Unique
A wrap makes your vehicle completely customizable and unique. There are a huge range of colors available, including solid colors rarely found in car paint, metallic colors, color flows/flips that change based on direction and lighting, pearlescent colors, chromes, satins, mattes, or even completely custom designs that are printed directly on the wrap. Even common cars can become unique with a wrap, how often do you see an orange Honda Civic or a satin blue Mazda 6?
Reasonable Price
A high quality full color change wrap is generally $1900 to $3500 depending on the size of the vehicle and the choice of color. This is comparable to a good mid-range paint job, although it is important to keep in mind that a paint job and a wrap serve different purposes. A wrap is unique, custom, and temporary, wheras paint is usually limited in color (unless you pay a lot more!) and permanent. Vinyl wraps are also much cheaper in price by square foot than paint protection film, making it a more economical choice for low level protection. Many customers wonder why a wrap is so expensive when they’ve been quoted $600 for a full paint job, but this is just not a fair comparison. You can get the same car quoted for a paint job anywhere from $500 to $10,000, because there will be a huge difference in quality of materials, attention to detail, level of experience, and customization options. We are an Avery-Dennison Certified wrap shop with 10+ years of experience, and the most fair comparison to a paint shop (if one can be made) would be to the upper end of those quotes. Ultimately wraps and paint serve different purposes, particularly due to the next reason:
It is Completely Removable
A wrap is a temporary outer skin for your vehicle. Most will easily last in great condition for 2 or 3 years and leave your car looking perfectly new underneath. Unlike paint you will not have to get your registration updated to a new color, and nothing on your car will be permanently changed which could hurt resale value. If you’re feeling particularly bold you can choose a crazy color and not have to worry too much about it, because when you get tired of it it will be easily removed without a trace.
